Online attendance register

Record and review attendance by class

EduPortal gives teachers and academies a class attendance register. Each session has a date and time, with separate statuses for present, late, excused absence and unexcused absence.

How attendance works

  1. 01

    Set up a class

Create a class and invite its students. Attendance records belong to that class.

  2. 02

    Choose a time

Create an attendance session for a date and time. Academy times use the campus time zone.

  3. 03

    Mark each student

Choose present, late, excused absence or unexcused absence, and add a note when needed.

  4. 04

    Review history

View class sessions and each student's own attendance history, and update records in the same register.

What can you see?

Who attended

Open a session by date and class to see each student's status. Late arrivals are recorded separately.

Participation rate

The rate counts present and late records over present, late and unexcused absence records. Excused absences are excluded from this calculation.

Student access

Students can review their own class attendance history; authorized staff manage class records.

Attendance questions

Do I need separate attendance software?

No. Attendance lives alongside your classes, students and lessons in EduPortal.

Do excused absences lower the participation rate?

Excused absences are excluded from EduPortal's participation-rate calculation.

Can I keep groups separate?

Yes. Every class has its own attendance sessions and history.

Can parents see their child's attendance?

Yes. Parents with a confirmed parent-child connection can review their child's class attendance and teacher notes within their permitted access.
