Zoom integration

EduPortal Zoom Integration Guide

This guide explains how an authorised Academy user can connect Zoom, schedule an online class, disconnect the account, and remove the EduPortal app from Zoom.

Overview

The EduPortal Zoom integration lets authorised Academy users create scheduled Zoom meetings from an EduPortal class. Connecting Zoom is optional, and EduPortal can still be used without a Zoom account.

Before you begin

  • You must have an active EduPortal account with access to the relevant Academy and class.
  • Your Academy role must allow you to schedule an online class.
  • You must be able to sign in to the Zoom account you want to connect.
  • Your browser must allow the Zoom authorisation window to open.

Add and connect the app

  1. Sign in to EduPortal and open the relevant Academy.
  2. Open a class and choose Schedule Online Class.
  3. Select Zoom as the meeting provider.
  4. Select Connect.
  5. Sign in to Zoom, review the requested permissions, and approve the request.
  6. Return to EduPortal. The connected Zoom account will be shown in the online-class dialog.

Schedule a Zoom meeting

EduPortal creates the Zoom meeting and stores its meeting link with the online class so authorised class members can join.

  1. Open the relevant class and choose Schedule Online Class.
  2. Select Zoom.
  3. Enter the class title and choose a future date and time.
  4. Select Schedule Class.

Disconnect Zoom from EduPortal

Disconnecting revokes the connection and prevents EduPortal from creating or managing further meetings through that Zoom account.

  1. Sign in to EduPortal and open Settings.
  2. Select Meeting Connections.
  3. Find the connected Zoom account.
  4. Select Disconnect and confirm.

Remove EduPortal from Zoom

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Open Manage and select Added Apps.
  3. Find EduPortal and open its app details.
  4. Select Remove and confirm.

What happens after removal

When Zoom is disconnected or the app is removed, EduPortal clears the stored Zoom access and refresh tokens and can no longer access the Zoom account.

Existing EduPortal online-class records and meeting links are not automatically removed. If you disconnect Zoom before deleting a meeting, manage that meeting directly in Zoom. EduPortal records remain subject to the EduPortal Privacy Notice and applicable retention rules.

Troubleshooting

  • The connection window does not open: allow pop-ups for eduportal.az and try again.
  • Zoom authorisation fails: confirm that you are signed in to the intended Zoom account and are allowed to authorise apps.
  • A meeting cannot be created: reconnect Zoom and confirm that the selected date and time are in the future.
  • The issue continues: email [email protected] with the error details and a screenshot that does not expose credentials.
